The Best Content Repurposing Tools for Written Content

A Repagio AI guide: Many popular repurposing tools are built around video and audio. If your raw material is a book, a blog archive or a transcript, here is how the options compare.

This comparison is written by the team behind Repagio, so we have an obvious interest. To keep it fair, every description of another tool below is based only on what that company says on its own website (checked November 2026). Features and pricing change, so check each site before you decide.

Why the Input Format Matters

"Content repurposing" covers two quite different jobs. One is taking a long video or recording and cutting it into clips. The other is taking long written material — a manuscript, years of blog posts, a whitepaper — and rewriting it into new formats such as LinkedIn posts, threads and newsletters.

A tool that is excellent at the first job may do little for the second. So the most useful question is not "which tool is best?" but "what does this tool expect me to give it?"

Start with what you already have, then pick the tool built for it.

The Tools Compared

Repurpose.io — distribution for video and social

Repurpose.io describes itself as a content distribution and repurposing platform for podcasts, live streams and video, and recently added photos, carousels and slideshows across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. It is a strong fit if you publish video and want it reposted across platforms. It is not aimed at turning long-form writing into new text.

Castmagic — content from audio and video files

Castmagic positions itself as an AI content operating system for getting more out of video and audio files. It transcribes a recording and drafts assets from it, including newsletters, social posts, LinkedIn posts and show notes. If your source is a podcast or webinar recording, it is worth a look.

Repodeo AI — audio-first repurposing with publishing built in

Repodeo AI describes itself as the publishing layer for spoken-word content — podcasts, sermons and interviews. You upload audio or video, and it drafts a timestamped transcript, an SEO article, show notes, social captions, a newsletter and a short-video script, in a brand kit voice. It then publishes those assets to a hosted show site with a working RSS feed, on a schedule, with a client approval step, and offers a separate agency platform for multi-client work. If your source is recordings and you also want them published, it covers more of that pipeline than a writing-only tool.

ContentFries — clips and assets from long videos

ContentFries asks you to paste a long video, then finds moments worth posting and produces captioned clips, thumbnails, quote ideas and a blog outline you can expand in its editor. It is aimed at coaches, podcasters and founders who record on camera.

OpusClip — short clips from video

OpusClip is a clip editing tool that turns longer videos into short clips. It is a video-first product; it does not set out to rewrite written material.

💡 Repagio Tip
If most of your best thinking lives in recordings, a video- or audio-first tool may suit you better than a text-first one. That is a perfectly good choice.

General AI Chat Assistants

Many people repurpose writing with a general AI chat assistant by pasting in a passage and asking for a post. This works and costs little to try. The trade-offs are practical: you write the prompts yourself each time, there is no library of your saved sources, and keeping a consistent voice and format across many posts takes discipline.

Stop Writing This From Scratch

How to Choose

1
Name your source. Is it mostly video, audio or writing? This rules out half the options straight away.
2
Name your outputs. Short clips, or written posts like LinkedIn updates, threads and newsletters?
3
Check voice controls. Can you give the tool examples of your own writing so the output sounds like you?
4
Try it on real material. Use one real chapter or post on a free plan before paying for anything.

Where Repagio Fits

Repagio is built for the written-content job. You start from text: paste it, add a web page URL, or upload a PDF or Word file, and save it as a reusable source. From any source you can generate four formats — an SEO blog post, a LinkedIn post, an X thread or an email newsletter — in one of five tones.

  • —Free: 2 lifetime generations
  • —Creator: 20 generations per month
  • —Pro and Agency: unlimited generations, plus Brand Voice writing samples and a more capable model
  • —Agency: client folders and team members
  • —A WordPress plugin (currently in limited distribution) that finds older posts on your own site worth repurposing

Repagio does not edit video or cut clips. If that is what you need, one of the video-first tools above is the better pick. If your best work is already written down, Repagio is designed for exactly that.
